Senior Stylist
Jessica started her hairdressing career in 2016 at MacGregor hairdressing in Morningside where she stayed for 5 years before moving to MacIntyre’s Hair & Beauty and joined TBW in 2023. Jessica is also a Glam Candy qualified makeup artist and loves doing hair and makeup for events and weddings. Jessica specialises in balayages, vivids, Brazilian blow dries and event styling (bouncy blow dries and hair ups)
Jelena Lopatneva
Senior Therapist
Jelena has been qualified in beauty for 7 years and joined TBW in 2023 after having worked in Lavender Beauty and Norton House. Jelena is trained in a wide range of services including Caci facials.
Katie Sutcliffe
Senior Therapist
Katie qualified with an ITEC in holistic massage in 2010 then obtained the rest of her beauty qualifications while working in Guernsey. She moved back to Edinburgh in 2013 to work in salons in Corstorphine then owned her own salon, Lavender, for 6 years. Alongside many beauty treatments, Katie offers Lava shells massage, CACI facials and lash extensions.
Maisa Aghatabay
Brow & Lash Technician
Maisa is a fully qualified brow and lash technician with over 5 years of experience. She joined TBW in 2021 after working for several years in Harvey Nichols and Jenners in Edinburgh.
Ashley Yates
Senior Nail Technician/ Senior Therapist.
Ashley originally joined thebeautyworks in 2012 after working abroad in Australia, she is a qualified HNC nail technician and HND beauty therapist. Ashley specialises in nails and also provides tanning, tinting and waxing.
Suzanne Anderson
Senior Stylist
Suzanne has many years of hairdressing experience and has been based within Corstorphine for a number of years. Suzanne joined thebeautyworks team in 2019.
Karyn Butter
Director Stylist/Owner
Karyn has been part of The beauty works team since the very beginning. Karyn originally trained and worked in Charlie Miller and also worked in Space NK as a makeup artist.
Clare Thompson
Senior Therapist/Assistant Manager
Clare qualified with an HND in Beauty Therapy in 2007 and has been a part of thebeautyworks team since 2015. Clare is trained in a wide range of beauty treatments including lash extensions, reflexology and threading.

Senior Therapist
Jo joined the beauty works team in 2017 after moving to Scotland from Australia where she qualified in Beauty Therapy over 15 years ago. Jo’s main passion is skincare and she loves educating her clients in the results driven Environ facials.
Janice Pilkington
Senior Therapist/Salon Owner
Janice has been in the beauty industry for over 25 years and is qualified with an ITEC & Mary Reid Diploma in Beauty Therapy. In 2006 Janice put her passion and knowledge of the beauty industry into opening The beauty works. Janice is trained in many beauty treatments and specialises in electrolysis, HD brows, IPL and Collagen Stimulation Therapy
Laura Darling
Senior Therapist
Laura has been part of The beauty works since 2016 and has been in the beauty industry for many years. Qualified as a beauty & holistic therapist, Laura offers a wide range of beauty treatments and specialises in Environ & Ghu Sha facials as well as massage, reiki and Indian head massage.
Shelley Cunningham
Senior Stylist
Shelley has been part of The beauty works team since 2016. She qualified with her Level 2 in Hair 14 years ago and has been working in the industry ever since.
Veronica Smith
Senior Therapist
Veronica has 11 years of beauty industry experience and an HND in Beauty Therapy. Having previously managed her own salon, Veronica loves working as part of the team and the friendly atmosphere at thebeautyworks.
